The First 5★ Unit — Laestrygonian

Update 3 introduces the first 5★ unit in Command An Army — Laestrygonian (its name doubles as the launch code LAESTRYGONIAN), breaking the 4★ ceiling that defined the pre-update meta. The banner card reads 0.01% pull rate, HP 700, DMG 120 at level 1 — with attack interval 3.5s, range 35 and DPS 34.3 shown on the same card. One creator burned 17,399 gems without hitting it; a second 5★ is widely expected in a future update. Seen in footage · 2026-10-07

This changes the entire progression math: the Star Limit cost of a 5★ unit is higher than any 4★, and the existing 4★ units (Spartan, Immortal, Samurai, Berserker) are no longer the ceiling — they are now the second tier. Community report · 2026-09-23

Post-launch balancing is live: Laestrygonian launched weak and was buffed (now hits 4 units with heavy splash — strong when escorted by a wall, fragile alone at just 9 units), while Phalangite launched dominant and was nerfed. Expect more tuning swings through October. Community report · 2026-10-09

Two New Evolution Lines

The update log on camera listed new evolutions for the Mace and the Pikeman — both endpoints are now documented in dedicated videos: Seen in footage · 2026-10-07

  • Pikeman → Phalangite. The defensive headliner: at level 20 the screen shows 347.6 HP, 36.5 damage, 2.0s attack interval, 71.4 block, 25 range, 28 unit count. Its hold-position modes include an "uncrossable wall" of spears — it launched as undisputed S tier, then got nerfed within two weeks (less damage, charge capped at 3 targets) and now rates A tier as the best pure-defense pick. Seen in footage · 2026-10-09
  • Mace → Morningstar. The shield-breaker grows up, with full screen stats at level 20 / Ascension 3: 476.1 HP, 41.3 damage, the highest block damage in the game, 1.6s attack interval, 7 range, 25.8 DPS, 24 units — about 100 shield damage breaks most walls in one hit. Weak defending and no range advantage, so pair it with shield escorts. Seen in footage · 2026-10-09

The full chain table lives on the evolution guide.

New Features

Skill Tree

The most requested feature has arrived: a Skill Tree system that lets you customise individual unit abilities beyond the standard stat block. Early footage shows branching paths with skill crystals as the currency — the five new codes below each include skill crystals for exactly this purpose. Seen in footage · 2026-09-23

AFK Server

A new server type designed for passive/idle play. Details on rewards and progression rates are still being evaluated by the community. Seen in footage · 2026-09-23

Auto-delete

A quality-of-life feature that automatically manages inventory cleanup — reducing the manual selling of duplicate units that previously clogged the upgrade workflow. Seen in footage · 2026-09-23

Team and self troop colours

New visual customisation lets you set separate colors for your team's units versus your own — making it easier to identify your units in large battles. Seen in footage · 2026-09-23

Mongol Battle Pass Units — Khorchin and Bataar

The new Mongol-themed units are accessible exclusively through the Battle Pass at launch — launch-day footage confirms the creator could not find them in the standard summon banner. The pass runs on a quest track ("these are the quests right here" on camera), and one reviewer noted it is "probably really really hard to get" this early. Two units are named across launch coverage, and the October re-rank video settled their identities: Seen in footage · 2026-10-09

  • Khorchin — a horse archer: just 15 units with the lowest damage and HP in the game, winning by harassment on open maps (useless circling on castle maps, and the shield meta starves it). Verdict: low-A, map-dependent. Community report · 2026-10-09
  • Bataar — "cavalry on foot": charge damage ~47 that hits multiple units, high block break — but 18 units, no shield, dies fast if left engaged, and demands constant micromanagement. Its launch screen read: 492.7 HP at level 1, rush 43, slow 2.0s attack. Seen in footage · 2026-10-09

A new Myrmidon (shield-class) turned out to be the stealth hit of the update — "Spartans but faster" with 24 units, a regenerating shield and splash damage, called best-in-slot DPS by the 100-hour tier video. Community report · 2026-10-09 A third Mongol-style charger (20 units, ~340 HP, super-low charge cooldown) appears in the same video but its name is garbled in captions — off the roster until named on screen.

Five New Codes — Launch Wave

The biggest code drop in the game's history accompanied Update 3, with a total of 7,100 gems and 21 skill crystals across five codes: Seen in footage · 2026-09-23

What This Means for Your Account

Update 3 is the biggest content drop in Command An Army's history, and the meta is shifting rapidly: Community report · 2026-09-23

  • The first 5★ unit breaks the 4★ ceiling — accounts that saved gems for this moment have a head start.
  • The Skill Tree adds a new progression axis that interacts with the existing evolution and ascension systems.
  • Evolve a Pikeman if you defend — the new Phalangite is the community's defensive meta pick. The full chain list is on the evolution guide.
  • Ranked queues ran long at launch — a launch-window reviewer couldn't get a match because "the queue time was just way too long"; expect waits to normalize as the player base settles. Community report · 2026-10-07
  • The codes tracker has all five launch codes — redeem before they expire.
  • Ranked and Guilds continue from Update 2, now with the new unit pool.
